This course covers the same material used in the full-day media training courses. The difference is that it’s focused specifically on you, and some, or all of the training is conducted online at a time convenient to you. It is also spread out over an agreed period of time.
Participants have 12 months access to the online course (See online course page for more on this). That takes care of the theory required to succeed at media interviews. When you have completed each section of that course, you come together with Pete at either at Media Training NZ in Christchurch, or online to put that theory into practice.
This includes preparing media messages and sound bites as well as conducting mock interviews of potential scenarios you may face. Following constructive critiques, a new skill becomes the focus.
The standard package involves five sessions of one and a half hours, but this is flexible. This is a great option for those who can’t take a full day off work, prefer learning at a slower pace, or are conscious of mock interviews in-front of their peers.

"Since doing individual training with Pete, I've got my points across to journalists so well that they've always been used in the subsequent stories. Before I found media interviews nerve-wracking because I never knew what parts of them the journalists would use."
